…is ruining (I believe) the entire image/persona of Skins.
I just saw a skit on SNL portraying Skins (obviously the US version) and that’s just well and dandy, but why now? Why do I feel like people are just NOW noticing Skins?
Why did people have to find out about this amazing show through its sub-par US version?
wow thank you!! ( ^ . ^ )
No, I’ve actually never played that!
The start: a simple touch
One night to push and scream
And then relief” —the Knife, Heartbeats
Today in class we were going over a quiz that was available online (that was due tonight and I just finished it a couple of hours ago haha)
Anyway, someone was asking about a particular question they were having problems with. The teacher didn’t really think the question made sense (online) so he said that he’d just give us credit for the question regardless if you answered it or not.
Then some girl said, “Well what if you got it right? Do we get extra credit” And he said…
“No, but you get to have pride, knowing that you got the answer right!”
And I said to myself,
“That…doesn’t matter to us.”
it was funnier at the time OK? XD
Yes it’s truly an amazing video game. And I can’t believe you don’t play video games! Anyway, the walkthroughs are actually really fun to watch, especially watching someone who’s really good at the game. I’ll be watching them and then all of a sudden I’m like “WHAT!? How did you do that!!?” XD
yeah you’re probably right! where do you go to school?
Just finished watching the first episode. Let me start off by saying that I had my doubts from the very beginning. I thought, “If they’re bringing it to the US, the show is going to be crap.” Honestly, my thoughts hadn’t been changing since the time of its inception. Anyway, here’s my thoughts on the US version’s characters:
[brutally honest, no bullshitting]
Tony: not a very good actor, too short, emotionless at times to a point that it’s annoying
Michelle: hot, great actress for a first timer (I believe), fits her character
Stanley (Sid in the original): kind of boring, almost emotionless like Tony
Cadie (Cassie in the original): very interesting, great actress, hot
Abbud (Anwar in the original): not very noticeable
Chris: very much like his character (fitting)
Tea (Maxxie in the original but almost irrelevant): good actress but didn’t stand out very much at all
Daisy (Jal in the original): much like Tea, she seems like a good actress but didn’t stand out much in this episode since she wasn’t in it much. However, comparing her role with the UK’s Jal, who actually did stand out, I would say that she was sub-par.
Eura (Effy in the original): didn’t stand out especially due to the lack of time shown in the episode. However, I would say that Effy in the UK original was in that particular episode just as much as Eura and seemed to stand out much more
So there you have it. My initial reactions to each main character of the US version of Skins. Overall, I give the first episode a 6/10.
